fitterhood® respects the privacy concerns of the users of its website. This statement is to explain what information is gathered during a visit to the website and how this information may be used. This page contains two components: the first is the Disclosure of principles by which fitterhood® is conducted, and the second is the GDPR-compliant Privacy Policy regarding the way your data is treated.
DISCLOSURE
For the avoidance of doubt and in the spirit of honesty, the disclosure manifesto I follow for fitterhood® is as follows:
1) PRINCIPLE: The over-riding purpose of fitterhood® is to be a place of honesty and integrity for people who love wellness and fitness, so that they feel secure that what they read is a genuine and useful opinion.
2) LINKS: I never use links via any affiliate site on posts or content related to fitterhood®.
3) MERITOCRACY: I do not, and never have, posted positive reviews in exchange for product or other incentives. The world is a meritocracy: if a post is sponsored, this will be called out accordingly in the post.
4) GENUINE OPINION: My opinions are my own and I do not accept sponsorship or advertising on products in exchange of positive reviews.
5) ADVERTISING: On occasion, I may opt to install a limited amount of advertising in my side bar – this advertising would be carefully selected by me for appropriateness to the fitterhood® readership.
6) CHARGES: I do not make any charges to organically review, photograph, Tweet, Pin or Instagram products.
7) SCHEDULING: If I am travelling, posts might on very rare occasions, be scheduled. Otherwise, they are almost exclusively written and posted in real-time.
8) FREEBIES: I happen to be sent complimentary products in my role both as a professional coach and blogger.
9) COACHING: As part of fitterhood® and my participation in the coaching, wellness, and fitness realms as a trainer, gymgoer, blogger, and consumer, I offer a professional coaching service to individuals, groups, companies, and/or consultancy to brands for which I may charge a professional fee.
10) NO GUEST POSTS: I do not currently accept guest posts or any otherwise generated posts (and never post infographics). I write everything on fitterhood® myself, as I want to keep it authentic and honest.
11) CONFLICTS OF INTEREST: I am extremely keen that there should be no conflicts of interest on this site. I do not currently affiliate myself to any products or companies.
PRIVACY POLICY
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
The personal data fitterhood® collects from users and site visitors may include personal data, such as name, email address, and personal preferences related to our mentioned programs. fitterhood® does not undertake any collection and retention of sensitive personal data concerning health.
fitterhood® does not collect any personal data about visitors by default just from a user’s interactions with our site. Personal data is solely generated from technical processes such as comments or contact forms that users fill out with full consent prior to participation in listed programs.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
Personal data such as name and email are captured when someone submits a contact form. fitterhood® may keep contact form submissions for a certain period for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.
Cookies
A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date; a session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.
Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.
We may use cookies to help us to analyze the use and performance of our website and services; and to store your preferences in relation to the use of cookies more generally.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
